With all the environment issues in China, it will be easy for architect Sherry Poon and her family to just move back to Canada. But they chose to live in Shanghai. Sherry saw that there are actually a lot of companies in China who are moving towards becoming more sustainable, but there is no platform. So she decided to start the Eco Design Fair and to contribute as an individual to the community. The Eco Design Fair sets its own strict eco criteria to select the exhibitors, and builds a platform for consumers to interact with designers and manufacturers. From a one-off experiment to a fair that has lasted for eight years, Sherry Poon has been very passionate about what she is doing, and expects to expand to other cities in China.
